Aerospace supplier opportunities in Titusville, Florida
Titusville sits on the mainland across the Indian River from Kennedy Space Center, and its aerospace base is growing: Lockheed Martin is building a missile component plant, the city's airport holds an FAA launch site license and an industrial park has broken ground there, and payload processing has run in town for decades. Local shops are well placed for launch site, ground support and defense production work.
Lockheed Martin's new Titusville plant
The largest new buyer in Titusville is Lockheed Martin. In January 2025 the EDC of Florida's Space Coast announced a $140 million advanced manufacturing facility in the city, about 225,000 square feet, projected to create up to 300 jobs at an average wage of $89,000 and to bring more than 100 Navy personnel to the site. The plant will make components for the Trident II D5 LE2 submarine launched ballistic missile, tied to a $383 million Navy development contract, and is expected to be ready for operations in 2027.
Incentive support came from the Florida Department of Commerce, the EDC and the North Brevard Economic Development Zone.
For suppliers, a strategic missile program means strict requirements. Expect ITAR controlled drawings, CMMC flow-downs, AS9100 quality expectations, tight traceability and approved special processes. It also means steady, long-running production once the line is up, which is exactly the kind of work small precision shops want. Shops that start getting compliant now will be in a better spot when the plant starts placing orders.
Space Coast Regional Airport and the new industrial park
Space Coast Regional Airport (TIX) is operated by the Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority. On May 5, 2020, the FAA issued the authority a license to operate a launch site at the airport for horizontal operations, meaning vehicles that take off and land like aircraft. The city describes the airport as a general aviation field set up for corporate and aerospace operations.
On airport land, developers Hines and Key Group are building Space Coast Innovation Park, an industrial campus aimed at aerospace and defense tenants inside the airport's licensed spaceport boundary. The project held a ceremonial groundbreaking in September 2026, later than the original plan to start construction in early 2024. No tenants had been publicly named in the coverage we found, so treat it as future capacity rather than current demand.
Industrial parks like this tend to bring in satellite, component and test companies that need local machining, fabrication, finishing and cleaning support, so it is worth watching the tenant announcements.
Payload processing and spacecraft structures
Titusville has hosted spacecraft work for a long time, which is why some of the most specialized supplier needs in the county show up here.
- Astrotech Space Operations. A payload processing business in Titusville that prepares satellites for launch, including final testing, propellant loading and encapsulation. Lockheed Martin acquired it in 2014 and announced plans to expand the site in 2016.
- Beyond Gravity, formerly RUAG Space USA. The company chose a Titusville site in 2016 with help from the EDC and the North Brevard zone, and built the structures for OneWeb satellites there.
Payload processing and spacecraft structures create demand for cleanroom compatible handling equipment, fixtures, lifting hardware, precision cleaning, bonding and potting support, and test services.
Logistics advantages for a Titusville shop
The city calls itself the only community in America one bridge away from Kennedy Space Center. Whatever the marketing, the practical point stands: a Titusville shop can get a part, a fixture or a technician to the north end of KSC quickly, and that counts on launch site jobs where a delay holds up a campaign.
Titusville is also part of Foreign Trade Zone 136, which can defer or reduce duties on imported material for companies that set up zone operations, and the city notes barge canal access for oversized components. Port Canaveral is to the south for larger moves.
Training and hiring in North Brevard
Eastern Florida State College received $1.2 million from the state in 2022 to set up an Aerospace Center of Excellence on its Titusville campus, planned with four labs in electronics, metal fabrication, fluids and composites, to bring its Aerospace Technology degree closer to Kennedy Space Center. Those are the same skills Titusville employers hire for.
CareerSource Brevard offers on-the-job training support and, according to the city, partial wage reimbursement for up to six months when a business hires unemployed aerospace workers. The city also points to Quick Response Training grants and R&D tax credits that aerospace firms may qualify for.
Where a Titusville shop fits
Match your processes to the buyers actually here. A welding and fabrication shop fits ground support equipment and handling hardware, see fabrication shops. A precision machine shop fits the coming missile component work, if it is ready for ITAR and CMMC. A cleaning, plating or NDT house fits both launch site and defense production, see process houses.
Be realistic about timing. The Lockheed plant and the airport park are both still being built, so near-term work is more likely to come from existing launch site and payload operations. Use the time to close compliance gaps.

Questions
When will the Lockheed Martin Titusville plant start buying from suppliers?
The facility was announced as expected to be ready for operations in 2027. Purchasing for production usually ramps around the time a line is qualified, and some tooling, fixture and facility work starts earlier. The plant supports a strategic missile program, so suppliers will need export control registration, cyber compliance and a strong quality system. Contact Lockheed Martin's supplier portal and watch EDC announcements rather than waiting for an invitation.
What does the FAA launch site license at Space Coast Regional Airport allow?
The license, issued May 5, 2020, to the Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority, allows the airport to host horizontal launch and landing operations, meaning vehicles that take off and land on a runway like an aircraft rather than launching vertically from a pad. It does not mean rockets launch from the airport. For suppliers, its main effect is that the airport can market itself to spaceplane and related companies.
Is Space Coast Innovation Park open yet?
Not as of the coverage we found. Hines and Key Group held a ceremonial groundbreaking in September 2026 for the park at Space Coast Regional Airport, with construction starting afterward. It is aimed at aerospace and defense tenants, but no tenants had been publicly named. Check the Titusville-Cocoa Airport Authority and the EDC of Florida's Space Coast for current status.
What is the North Brevard Economic Development Zone?
It is a local incentive program covering the northern part of Brevard County, including Titusville. It has provided financial incentives for aerospace projects such as Lockheed Martin's new Titusville plant and RUAG Space USA's spacecraft site. It is mainly used for expansions that add jobs and investment. A small shop planning a significant expansion in North Brevard should ask the EDC whether it qualifies.
