Aerospace Parts Near Kennedy Space Center
The quickest parts for Kennedy Space Center work come from shops on the mainland in North and Central Brevard, one causeway away from Merritt Island. We source custom machined parts and related work for buyers inside and around the center, with one contact and a plan for getting the part through the gate.
What near Kennedy actually means
Kennedy Space Center sits on Merritt Island, with water between it and the mainland on one side and the cape on the other. Being near it is less about miles and more about which crossing a delivery uses and how fast it clears the gate.
NASA's directions describe two main ways in. From the west, State Road 405 runs out of Titusville over the NASA Causeway and onto center property. From the south, State Road 3 runs north through Merritt Island from State Road 528. Space Commerce Way, designated State Road 321 in January 2026, links those two roads and is the address for Exploration Park and the Kennedy Visitor Complex entrance.
So a shop in Titusville, Merritt Island, Cocoa or Cape Canaveral is a short drive from a Kennedy area dock. A shop in Orlando is farther but still same day by road. A shop out of state means freight, crating and at least a day of transit each way.
Who is buying parts around the center
The center hosts both NASA programs and commercial operators, and they buy differently.
- NASA's Artemis work at Launch Complex 39B, where the Space Launch System and Orion launch, along with the processing facilities that support it.
- SpaceX at Launch Complex 39A, which it has leased from NASA since 2014.
- Exploration Park companies, including Blue Origin, Redwire and Airbus U.S. Space and Defense, located along Space Commerce Way on center property.
- Contractors and subcontractors supporting all of the above, plus pads and operations across the Banana River on Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
We do not claim to work with any of these organizations. The list shows where demand for quick turn machined parts, fixtures and spares comes from.
When speed matters, and what local sourcing buys you
Nearby sourcing earns its keep in a few specific situations:
- A part is missing or wrong at integration. A local shop can machine a replacement bracket, spacer or adapter and hand it off the same week, sometimes sooner, instead of waiting on freight.
- Something needs to be modified to fit. The part can be driven back to the shop, adjusted and returned without crating.
- Your quality engineer wants to see it first. A witnessed first article or source inspection is a short drive, not a trip.
- The part needs cleaning before it goes in. Fluid system and cleanroom hardware can go from the machine shop to a precision cleaner and to your dock with fewer handoffs.
Speed is not a reason to drop requirements. A field fix still needs a drawing or dated markup, inspection records and a certificate of conformance that matches the part.
Getting the part through the gate
Anyone entering Kennedy on official business needs a Kennedy issued badge, and NASA says clearance has to be coordinated through a Kennedy sponsor. Badges are picked up at the badging office on State Road 405, just outside Gate 3. U.S. citizens need a REAL ID compliant ID or a passport, plus a second document from NASA's list.
For deliveries, decide early which of these applies:
- Your badged staff pick the part up from the shop or a nearby receiving point.
- The part goes to a receiving dock outside the gate that you already use.
- Your organization sponsors the supplier's driver for a planned delivery.
If the part is going across the river to the Space Force station instead, a base pass is required for every visitor, and contractors go through their host organization's sponsor. Put the delivery point and access plan in your request so the lead time covers the last mile.
Plan around weather and launch days
Two local conditions can stretch a short trip. Launch days bring heavy traffic onto the causeways and roads near the center. And the Atlantic hurricane season, June 1 to November 30 according to NOAA, can close roads, bridges and the center itself for days, especially from mid-August to mid-October. For parts that a launch or test depends on, ask for a schedule with margin and talk through a fallback.

Request a part near Kennedy
Aerospace Sourcing is, a short drive from the center. We match your request to qualified suppliers, flow down the requirements and give you one quote, one lead time and one contact. A person replies within one business day, rush requests are prioritized, and every order ships with a certificate of conformance.
If a job at Kennedy is waiting on a part, send a CNC request with the drawing details, need date and delivery point. Controlled drawings follow our confidentiality process and never go through the form.
Questions
Where are the closest machine shops to Kennedy Space Center?
The shortest trips come from the mainland and island communities around the center, such as Titusville at the end of the NASA Causeway, Merritt Island along State Road 3, Cocoa and Cape Canaveral. We match each request to a qualified supplier based on the part, the requirements and the delivery point rather than distance alone, and we do not publish a list of shops.
Can a supplier drive a part directly into Kennedy Space Center?
Only with a Kennedy issued badge, which has to be coordinated through a Kennedy sponsor and picked up at the badging office just outside Gate 3 on State Road 405. Many buyers instead have badged staff collect parts or use a receiving point outside the gate. Tell us your access plan in the request so the delivery date we give you is realistic.
How fast can I get a replacement part near KSC?
It depends on the part, the material on hand, the inspection level and shop load, so we do not promise a fixed turnaround. A person replies within one business day and rush requests are prioritized. The fastest path is a complete request: drawing or dated markup, material, finish, inspection level, need date and delivery point.
Do quick turn parts still ship with paperwork?
Yes. Every order ships with a certificate of conformance, and we add material certs, first article reports or process certs when your request calls for them. A rushed part that shows up without records can hold up integration just as long as a late part, so name the documents you need when you order.
Can I send controlled drawings for a Kennedy program?
Not through the website. Send the non-controlled details first. Every supplier signs a flow-down NDA before seeing customer files, controlled data moves only by secure transfer to US persons, and suppliers do not learn the end customer unless you approve. The confidentiality page explains the process.
